TAMALE FESTIVAL FUNDRAISER
We will have a booth at the Tamale Festival on Saturday December 4th at the Casino del Sol. Come support Academia, we will be selling tamales and Mexican candied apples, as well as performing at 12:45pm and 1:45pm.

We will be making the tamales and we need A LOT of help. We are asking the parents to please come by and donate a little bit of your time.

When: Wednesday December 1, 2010
Where: The Lee House
Time: Starting at 1:00pm and
going as late as it takes...

We realize this is late notice, but the booth was donated and we cannot miss out on this great opportunity. If anybody can volunteer to work the booth on Saturday, please let us know. We need help decorating, selling, and cleaning up.

  Please Help Make Our Dance 
  Studio YOUR Home... 
Our dream has always been to have a beautiful classroom to call our own; Comfortable enough to accomodate large classes, with lots of mirrors and high ceilings... our goal is to transform the back room of our building into our "dream classroom". A lot of time and work has gone into making this dream a reality, but WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP! 
Armando Espinoza, a very dedicated and involved father of two of our dancers, has been working long hours installing the wood floor, but we still need help!
We want to make your home BEAUTIFUL! 
We are currently asking for volunteers to help out with anything possible...
If any of our "Academia Family" (fathers, brothers, boyfriends, uncles, or cousins) are handy with a hammer, we are DEFINITELY in need of volunteers!!! 
ALSO... Because of our Non-Profit Status, we are now able to accept donations of any kind which you may be able to claim as a deduction on next year's tax return.

We DEEPLY apologize for the LAST MINUTE change of location on Picture Day. It was something that was out of our hands, and we really did do all we could to ensure that our students had the opportunity to take their pictures as scheduled.

WE ARE VERY LIMITED ON TIME! If you are late, the photographer does not guarantee that your pictures will be taken and you will have to make other arrangements. As some of you might know, our beloved friend and Master of Ceremonies, Bertha Gamez-Gallego passed away in February.
Her daughter, Samantha, started dancing with Leticia Durazo when she was three years old, and has been dancing with Academia de Baile for the past six years.
She is currently the folklorico teacher at Davis Elementary School and a student at the U of A. 
 
Samantha's mother touched so many of us in one way or another;
With a kind word, a helpful hand, a warm smile.
Berthita was a part of our lives for many years and will always be
a part of our thoughts, our prayers, our hearts...
Forever, a part of us.
